An established and growing facilities management company is seeking an experienced and reliable Caretaker to service residential apartment and townhouse complexes.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in presentation, preventative maintenance, and delivering a high level of service to residents and committees.
The successful applicant must be available to commence from 16 November 2026.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the day-to-day upkeep and presentation of multiple residential complexes, ensuring they remain clean, safe, compliant, and well maintained.
Duties will include:
- General cleaning and presentation of common areas
- Extensive gardening and grounds maintenance
- Mowing, hedging, pruning, and garden upkeep
- Minor handyman and repair work
- Monitoring contractor works onsite
- Bin management and waste handling
- Identifying maintenance issues before they become major problems
- By-law and site compliance monitoring
- Basic administrative reporting and communication
- Responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Maintaining equipment and storage areas
About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience as a caretaker/building manager, or similar role
- Have extensive experience in mowing, gardening, hedging, and general landscape maintenance
- Be practical and hands-on with strong problem-solving skills
- Have experience with basic maintenance and handyman work
- Take pride in maintaining high presentation standards
- Be reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
- Have strong communication and people skills
- Hold a current driver’s licence
- Own a reliable ute capable of towing a trailer
- Be physically fit and capable of manual work
Highly Regarded
- Experience working within residential apartment complexes
- Trade or maintenance background
- Knowledge of WHS requirements
- Ability to use basic technology for reporting and communication
