Cradle Mountain Lodge is seeking an experienced and passionate Front Office Manager to lead our Front Office team and play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Set in the spectacular Cradle Mountain region, this is an prospect for an experienced hotel professional who enjoys leading people, engaging with guests and taking genuine ownership of hotel operations.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Front Office Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of Front Office, ensuring our guests receive a warm, professional and memorable experience from reservation through to departure.

This is a hands-on leadership position. You will work alongside the team while maintaining strong oversight of service standards, reservations, room inventory, rostering, training and departmental performance.

Commercial awareness is also important. The role works closely with management on occupancy, room rates, yield, packages, group business, distribution channels and opportunities to maximise accommodation revenue.

What You'll Be Doing

- Lead, coach and develop the Front Office team, creating a positive and professional service culture.

- Ensure consistently high standards of guest service across Front Office and reservations.

- Take a hands-on role in daily reception operations and support the team during busy periods.

- Manage rosters and wage costs in line with business demand and budget expectations.

- Maintain accurate reservations, billing, deposits, VIP requirements and guest information.

- Monitor room inventory, booking pace, occupancy, rates, packages and market positioning.

- Work closely with the General Manager and Revenue Manager on commercial and revenue opportunities.

- Oversee group bookings, allotments and third-party booking channels.

- Build strong working relationships with Housekeeping and other departments to ensure a seamless guest journey.





- Conduct regular team meetings, training and performance feedback.

- Respond professionally to guest feedback and help resolve issues in a positive and proactive manner.

- Be an ambassador for Cradle Mountain Lodge and the wider Cradle Mountain region, helping guests make the most of their stay.

About You

We are looking for a Front Office leader who combines genuine hospitality with strong operational discipline.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Previous Front Office leadership experience within a hotel, resort or accommodation environment

- Strong people leadership, coaching and communication skills

- A genuine passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences

- Experience with hotel PMS/reservation systems and online distribution channels

- Good understanding of hotel occupancy, rates, yield and room inventory

- Experience managing departmental rosters and labour costs

- Strong attention to detail and administrative skills

- Confidence handling guest concerns and making operational decisions

- The ability to work collaboratively with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage and other hotel departments

- A practical, hands-on leadership style

- Flexibility to work across a seven-day hotel operation
