Wandi

Your opportunity to shape how Australia treats eating disorders.

Wandi Nerida is Australia’s first specialist residential eating disorder recovery centre. Since 2021 we have opened our doors more than 300 times to people living with some of the most complex and enduring eating disorders, and our B-FREEDT Model of Care now helps inform how residential care is delivered across the country.

We are looking for the senior clinician who will lead the model’s next chapter: deepening the evidence behind it, deciding how it evolves, and representing it nationally as we work toward recognition as a Centre of Excellence.

Why this role is different

- You own a model of care. As custodian of the B-FREEDT Model of Care, you hold it in theory and in practice, approve how it is adapted, and monitor fidelity across every participant-facing discipline.
- You build the evidence. You lead our clinical research and evaluation agenda, hold the clinical integrity of our outcome data (including the TrEAT Registry), build university partnerships and publish our outcomes in peer-reviewed literature.
- You are a national voice. You represent Wandi Nerida at national and international conferences, with state and Commonwealth government, with ANZAED and the NEDC, and you lead the community of practice with Australia’s other residential eating disorder services.
- You lead through expertise. You hold clinical oversight of all clinical and participant-facing staff, working in peer partnership with the management team.

About the role

Reporting to the Director of Wandi Nerida and sitting on the Management Team, this is our most senior clinical role.

You will provide senior consultation on the most complex presentations, set the framework for clinical supervision, training and competency, lead clinical review where the model of care is a factor, and direct the work of our Research and Data Officer.

The role includes participation in the rotating Manager on Call roster and travel for conferences, sector engagement, government and partnership work.

About you

- Current general registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA, with endorsement in Clinical Psychology, and Master’s or Doctoral qualifications in Clinical Psychology.
- At least 5 years as a senior mental health clinician, including at least 2 years in senior clinical leadership.
- At least 3 years delivering evidence-based eating disorder treatment, with expertise in complex and comorbid presentations in residential, day program or inpatient settings.
- Experience owning a model of care or clinical framework across a multidisciplinary workforce.
- A research record in eating disorders or mental health, including peer-reviewed publication, outcome measurement or program evaluation.
- An established national profile, or the capacity to build one.

It would be excellent if you also hold the ANZAED Eating Disorder Credential or Psychology Board approval to supervise, or have worked alongside a lived experience or peer workforce.

What we offer

- Not-for-profit salary packaging.
- Permanent role, 0.8FTE.
- Working at a beautiful location – Wandi Nerida sits on a 25-acre property in the Mooloolah Valley on the Sunshine Coast.
- A team where lived experience is at the heart of care.
- Genuine influence on how residential eating disorder treatment develops in Australia.
