About the Chance

Powerdata Group is seeking an experienced Senior Azure Data Platform Engineer / Architect to support a major enterprise data platform uplift for a leading Australian financial services organisation.

The engagement involves working within an established Azure data platform and aligned data framework to uplift, standardise and migrate enterprise data assets, implement reusable data products and optimise analytics capabilities across the organisation.

This is a hands-on delivery role suited to a senior consultant who can operate independently, engage with business and technical stakeholders and deliver practical outcomes in complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess and uplift existing Azure data platform components.

- Analyse and document dependencies across ingestion pipelines, business rules and semantic models.

- Migrate and optimise ETL/ELT processes.

- Develop and implement Azure data engineering solutions.

- Design and deliver reusable data products.

- Implement and support medallion architecture patterns.

- Develop and optimise Azure SQL database objects and transformation logic.

- Support enterprise reporting and analytics capabilities through Power BI.

- Perform data validation, reconciliation and quality assurance activities.





- Contribute to technical documentation, operational runbooks and knowledge transfer activities.

- Participate in governance, risk management and stakeholder engagement activities.

Essential Skills and Experience

Azure Data Platform

Demonstrated experience designing and delivering solutions using:

- Azure Data Factory (ADF)

- Azure SQL Database

- Azure SQL Data Warehouse / Azure Synapse Analytics

- Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)

- Azure Functions

- Azure DevOps

- Microsoft Fabric (desirable)

- DataOps and CI/CD deployment practices

Data Engineering

Strong experience with:

- Data warehousing

- Data migration programs

- ETL and ELT design

- Data transformation frameworks

- Master and reference data concepts

- Data reconciliation and testing

- Data quality management

- Data governance implementation

Reporting and Analytics

Experience with:

- Power BI

- Semantic models
