BLOK Design Co. is a Brisbane-based interior design studio specialising in high-end residential, multi-residential, commercial, retail and hospitality environments across Southeast Queensland.

Our work is grounded in architectural clarity, refined materiality and a deep understanding of how people live, move and connect within space. As our studio continues to grow, we are seeking an Interior Design Associate to join our multidisciplinary design team and lead growth on the Gold Coast.

Blok Design Co. is underpinned by a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team. Across interior & event design, property styling, operations, sales, finance, IT, HR and administration, each team member contributes specialist expertise and plays a vital role in the consistent delivery of high-quality design outcomes for our clients.

This is a full-time role working across all phases of design — from business development through to documentation and construction delivery — with a high level of client and consultant engagement.

? About the Role

We are seeking a full time Interior Design Associate to join our growing interiors team. The role will be responsible for growing our interior design business in the Gold Coast region

Working closely with our director, designers and project partners, you will lead and contribute to projects across a range of scales and typologies.

Depending on project needs, your responsibilities will include:

· Leading design development from concept to completion

· Preparation of concept schemes, drawings, joinery & cabinetry details and documentation packages

· Spatial planning and interior architecture resolution

· Materials, finishes and FF&E; selection and specification

· Client presentations and relationship management

· Build new and enhance existing local supplier and service provider relationships on the Gold Coast

· Consultant coordination (architects, builders, suppliers)

· Manage timelines, budgets, and project documentation

· Producing presentations and visual communication material

· Site visits and construction phase support,



including assisting with site inspections for property styling projects on the Gold Coast

· Identification and conversion of recent business leads in the Gold Coast region for both Interior Design and Property Styling

? Skills & Experience

We are seeking a designer with both creative strength and delivery capability — someone confident operating independently while contributing to a collaborative studio culture.

Minimum requirements:

· Degree / Diploma qualification in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or related Built Environment discipline

· 8+ years’ interior design experience

· Robust residential and commercial design experience (essential)

· Solid understanding of construction and build processes

· Advanced interior design detailing capability

· Experience producing full documentation packages

· Demonstrated skills in AutoCAD / ArchiCAD / Revit / SketchUp / Photoshop / Canva, Programma and/or other design software

· Strong materials sourcing and finishes selection experience

· Strong product, material and manufacturer / supplier knowledge and relationships

· Direct client liaison and presentation experience

· Experience working alongside builders and contractors on-site

· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

· Strong business development and networking skills

? Software & Technical Skills

Demonstrated skills in:

· Revit

· AutoCAD / ArchiCAD

· SketchUp

· Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)

· Microsoft Office / Mac platforms

· Canva and/or other design software

Experience in scheduling and specification software (eg. Programa) is essential

Experience with Hubspot or other CRM software is an advantage.
