Disability Support Workers needed for Mother and Adult Daughter in Brassall 4305

About the people you’ll be supporting:

There are two people who you will be supporting in this role. Our names are Kerri and Chantelle, we are the clients but we are also the managers of this business.

We live together with our cats Nala & Piglet, our axolotls Mickey and Merlin and our 2 small dogs Stitch & Winnie. We are both massive Disney fans, love crafts and shopping. We both need support workers to assist us in different ways

About Kerri (Mother):

Kerri is 53 years old, she has type 1 diabetes and is an above knee amputee on one side. She loves crafts and shopping. She currently uses a mobility scooter or wheelchair to get around.

About Chantelle (Daughter):

Chantelle is 30 years old and has Dejerine-Sottas disease. She uses a motorised wheelchair, a v-pap machine to assist with breathing, and a hoist to transfer. She has a diploma in 3D animation, loves doing crafts, and loves anything related to animals.

About our business:

Here at C. R. Lawrence & K. Lawrence we the clients manage our business.

We first started employing support workers back in 2014 under a WPN, with our team growing as our needs increased we started our recent business name “C. R. Lawrence & K. Lawrence” with an ABN in early 2022. We usually have a team of around 15, but with an increase of support hours needed and allied health students graduating and pursuing their chosen career path we are currently looking to expand our team.

We are able to hire people as casual employees.

Successful candidates will have:

- Completed a minimum Certificate 3 in either Disability, Aged Care, or Individual Support. OR currently Studying as an Allied Health Student such as Nursing, Paramedic, physio, or OT.

- Valid Australian Drivers License.





- Reliable Car to get to and from work.

- Blue card, Yellow card, and/or a Criminal History Check.

What the job involves:

- Hoist transfer

- Personal hygiene

- Domestic duties (cooking, cleaning, etc.)

- Community access (driving our van)

- Assistance with caring for our pets

Shift Times:

This is a casual position so shifts are not the same day or time every week but we do offer monthly rosters and work with our teams availability and preferences as much as possible. Our team usually alternates weekends so it’s fair for the whole team and everyone gets their own family/free time on weekends. These are our regular shift times, some shifts do occasionally change on the roster to suit community access.

- Morning A: 6am-10am

- Morning B: 6am-12pm

- Midday: 8am-4pm

- Evening A: 12pm-9pm

- Evening B: 4pm-9pm

- Night: 9pm-6am (these are active awake shifts)

A new employee must be available for a variety of shifts.

Although we have listed the different shift times we offer, please understand it is a casual position so we cannot offer the same shift times and days every week. We are in search of people with some flexibility around which shifts they can do. We work with everyone in our teams availability and try to give everyone their preferences. We are currently seeking people with flexible schedules.

Rates:

We pay the award rate for Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (MA000100), Social and community services employee level 2 - pay point 1.

- $45.28 Base

- $49.80 Afternoon 8pm-12am

- $50.71 Night 12am-6am

- $63.39Saturday

- $81.50 Sunday

- $99.61 Public Holiday
