About the role

Join a retail team focused on delivering friendly, professional customer service and maintaining a safe, clean and well-presented store. You will support customers throughout their shopping experience while contributing to accurate checkout operations, kitchen prep, product availability, merchandising and compliance with company procedures.

Key responsibilities

- Greet and assist customers, provide product information and help locate items.

- Respond to customer enquiries and complaints promptly, referring matters to management when required.

- Operate cash registers, EFTPOS terminals and self-service checkout systems accurately.

- Be able to work in in-store kitchen area with prep, food safety etc.

- Process transactions efficiently and handle cash, refunds, exchanges and store credits in accordance with company procedures.

- Promote specials, loyalty programs and store promotions.

- Refill shelves and displays, rotate stock using FIFO procedures and maintain product availability.

- Check pricing, labels and promotional displays for accuracy.

- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or damaged goods to supervisors.

- Maintain clean, tidy and well-organised shelves, aisles, displays and customer areas.





- Assist with cleaning duties and ensure baskets and trolleys are presentable and accessible.

- Follow food handling, food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

- Identify and report hazards, accidents and safety concerns.

- Assist with loss prevention and report suspicious activity as required.

- Perform additional duties within your skills, qualifications and training as reasonably directed by management.

- Reliable, punctual and professional conduct.

- Previous experience in retail, supermarkets, hospitality or customer service is desirable.

- Experience using point-of-sale systems and cash registers is desirable.

- Knowledge of stock rotation and merchandising practices is desirable.
