About Hevilift

Hevilift is an established aviation operator in Papua New Guinea, providing rotary-wing and fixed-wing charter services across PNG.

We are seeking an experienced Chief Pilot – Rotary Wing to lead our rotary-wing flight operations and provide professional and operational leadership to our pilots and aircrew.

The Role

This is a senior aviation leadership position responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant and effective operation of Hevilift’s rotary-wing flying activities.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead and oversee the Company’s rotary-wing flight operations.
- Ensure all rotary-wing operations comply with applicable aviation legislation, regulatory approvals, Company manuals and operational procedures.
- Provide leadership, direction and professional oversight to pilots, crewmen and loadmasters.
- Oversee flight crew rostering, licensing, qualifications, recency, flight and duty limitations, and associated records.
- Establish and oversee appropriate check and training programs for pilots and aircrew.
- Monitor pilot proficiency in normal and emergency operating procedures.
- Maintain appropriate flying qualifications and currency to provide operational flying support when required.
- Provide leadership and guidance to Lead Pilots across operational bases.
- Monitor and respond to safety reports, operational incidents and aviation safety matters.
- Liaise with aviation regulatory authorities and relevant external agencies as required.
- Work closely with Engineering to support aircraft availability, operational requirements and continued airworthiness.
- Support the Company’s Safety Management System, audit processes and corrective actions.




- Visit remote operational bases and provide operational oversight as required.
- Provide regular operational reporting to senior management.

About You

We are looking for an experienced rotary-wing aviation leader with:

- A current Air Transport Pilot Licence – Helicopter, or an equivalent licence capable of recognition by the relevant aviation authority.
- A minimum of 5,000 hours of flying experience.
- An endorsement on at least one helicopter type operated within the Company’s fleet ie Bell 212/412, BK117, AS332
- Previous aviation management or senior flight operations experience.
- Previous check and training experience.
- Strong knowledge of aviation legislation, regulatory compliance and flight safety requirements.
- Demonstrated knowledge of aviation risk assessment and risk management.
- Proven ability to lead pilots and operational teams while maintaining high professional and safety standards.
- Strong communication, leadership and operational decision-making capabilities.
- PNG, Pacific, remote or similar operational experience would be advantageous.

Touring Roster & Benefits
- 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off touring roster
- Flights provided to and from PNG
