The Bella Venezia Group is seeking an experienced, highly organised and commercially minded Group Functions Manager to oversee functions, private dining experiences, corporate events and large group bookings across our two award-winning Mooloolaba restaurants, Bella Venezia Restaurant & Bar and Fish House Steak & Grill.

Bella Venezia Restaurant & Bar is an established, multi-award-winning Italian fine dining restaurant, renowned for its exceptional cuisine, extensive wine collection and sophisticated dining experiences.

Fish House Steak & Grill offers an elevated seafood and premium steakhouse experience, showcasing exceptional Australian produce, premium Wagyu beef and Japanese-inspired cuisine.

Both restaurants provide outstanding settings for corporate functions, celebrations, private dining and special events.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Group Operations Manager and Director, you will take responsibility for managing and developing the functions and group bookings business across both venues.

You will be the primary point of contact for function enquiries, managing the complete guest journey from the initial enquiry and quotation through to event coordination, execution and post-event follow-up.

This is a hands-on position that combines sales, administration, planning, client relationship management and operational involvement.

Key Responsibilities

Functions Sales & Enquiries

- Manage and respond promptly and professionally to all incoming function and group booking enquiries across both venues.

- Develop tailored function proposals, quotations and packages to suit client requirements.

- Conduct site inspections and meetings with prospective clients.

- Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings and identify opportunities to maximise function revenue.

- Build relationships with corporate clients,



event organisers and repeat customers.

Functions Planning & Coordination

- Manage all aspects of function bookings, including event details, menus, beverage packages, deposits and guest requirements.

- Prepare detailed function sheets and event run sheets.

- Liaise closely with restaurant managers, kitchen teams and front-of-house staff to ensure seamless communication and execution.

- Coordinate seating arrangements, event timings, special dietary requirements and client requests.

- Maintain accurate function records, booking information and client correspondence.

Event Execution & Guest Experience

- Oversee and, where required, personally coordinate and execute functions at either restaurant.

- Work alongside venue management and service teams to ensure exceptional service standards.

- Act as the key contact for function hosts and organisers.

- Proactively address operational challenges and ensure events run smoothly.

- Maintain the premium presentation and service standards expected across the Bella Venezia Group.

Business Development

- Identify opportunities to grow functions, private dining and corporate bookings across both restaurants.

- Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, corporate clients and event organisers.

- Work with senior management on function offerings, promotions and strategies to increase revenue.

- Monitor enquiries, conversion rates, guest feedback and function performance.

About You

We are seeking a confident, polished and results-driven hospitality professional with a genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

- Previous experience in functions management, event coordination or senior hospitality management.

- Strong food and beverage knowledge, ideally gained within premium restaurants, hotels or event venues.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.





- Strong sales ability and confidence in converting enquiries into confirmed bookings.

- Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail.

- The ability to manage multiple functions, enquiries and priorities simultaneously.

- Confidence working directly with clients, senior management, chefs and restaurant teams.

- A professional presentation and a warm, personable approach.

- Strong computer literacy and experience with restaurant reservation or event management systems.

- A hands-on attitude and willingness to assist with the operational execution of functions.

Experience with SevenRooms or similar reservation management platforms would be advantageous.

What We Offer

- Starting salary of $85,000 per annum + superannuation.

- Full-time, permanent employment.

Location & Working Hours

This position is based in Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast, with working hours shared between Bella Venezia Restaurant & Bar and Fish House Steak & Grill.

The roster will consist of five working days per week, with two consecutive days off. Shifts will include a combination of daytime and evening hours, depending on bookings, scheduled functions and operational requirements.
