BINSWEST is currently seeking reliable and hardworking Casual On-Call Waste Sorters to join our busy transfer station in Sunshine North.

As a locally owned and fully licensed recycling and resource recovery business, we play an important role in diverting waste from landfill and supporting sustainable environmental practices. Our Waste Sorters are a vital part of our operation, helping keep materials moving safely and efficiently through the recycling process.

Key responsibilities include:

- General labouring support: Carry out day-to-day tasks to ensure smooth facility operations, including assisting colleagues and respond to operational requirements to help ensure the smooth running of facility operations.

- Material sorting: Manually handling, lifting and moving waste materials around the site. Identify, separate and sort recyclable materials such as bricks, cement, tiles, steel, timber and general waste, ensuring correct processing streams and placement is followed.

- Sustainability contribution: Recover reusable materials for recycling and resale as eco-products, supporting landfill diversion and resource recovery initiatives.

- Facility upkeep:



Maintain cleanliness across warehouse and work areas, General labouring, sweeping, cleaning and clearing debris ensuring a secure and organised environment.

- Safety compliance: Consistently follow site safety procedures, wear required PPE and contribute to a strong safety culture.

- Work environment readiness: Operate effectively in a repetitive, noisy, and dusty industrial setting, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.

About You

We’re looking for individuals who are dependable, adaptable, and ready to contribute to a hardworking team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualities:

- PPE: you must be have long sleeve and pants (Aus Standard compliant) and steel cap boots.

- Previous waste management, recycling or general labouring experience desirable.

- Physically fit and comfortable with repetitive lifting, bending and manual handling.

- Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.

- Desirable: Previous experience in waste management, recycling, construction, labouring or a similar hands-on role

- Be available for oncall work from Monday - Friday 7:00am to 5:00pm and Saturday 7:00am to 3:00pm
