About the Role

Great therapy takes more than time in the therapy room. At OAK Family Therapy, your work week includes dedicated space for planning, notes and reports, not just appointments.

We’re looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to support children and young people aged 18 months to 25 years, working alongside their families to make everyday life more manageable and meaningful.

Our work-week structure includes:

- Three clinic days, plus 1.5 days combining community work and working from home.

- Protected time for notes and reports on non-clinic days.

- A choice of available clinic/WFH combinations to help you find a routine that works.

You’ll deliver assessments and interventions grounded in play-based and family-led practice that is tailored to the specific needs of the child. That means working towards goals and strategies that fit the whole family, not just what happens in a session.

You’ll also have:

- Regular supervision alternating between our Founder, Hanna, and an external supervisor.

- Informal support through Slack and access to experienced colleagues for clinical discussions.

- A $2,000 annual PD allowance, resources and encouragement to keep learning.

The role is expected to begin in Manly West, with a likely transition to Cannon Hill as OAK expands.

About You

You’re an experienced OT who enjoys working with children, young people and their families. You bring warmth, thoughtful clinical reasoning and an understanding that meaningful progress looks different for every family.

You’ll have:

- At least two years’ paediatric occupational therapy experience.

- A commitment to tailored intervention and family-led care.

- Strong assessment, intervention and communication skills.

- A collaborative approach and the confidence to ask questions, share ideas and keep learning.

- An openness and commitment to lifelong learning.





- Current AHPRA registration, Australian working rights and relevant screening clearances.

About Us

OAK Family Therapy was founded by Hanna, an Occupational Therapist with over 15 years’ experience across private practice, the Department of Education and Child & Youth Mental Health. Previously a Discipline Lead in a Brisbane private practice, Hanna established OAK with a clear purpose: to provide therapy that enriches the lives of children and their families.

OAK’s family-centred framework is informed by Ayres Sensory Integration, PRPP (Perceive, Recall, Plan, Perform), Occupational Performance Coaching, Theraplay and Greenspan Floortime. These approaches bring together clinical expertise and an understanding of what works for the whole family. OAK stands for One of a Kind. We want that to be how we approach each family.

Today, we’re a warm, tight-knit team where that knowledge is shared. Through regular supervision with Hanna and external supervisors, alongside rich clinical discussion with experienced colleagues, you’ll have the support to deepen your practice and bring your own strengths to the team.

ADAPTABLE WORK WEEK
