About the role
As a Senior Estimator with SHAPE, you will play a key role in our Pre-Construction team, leading the preparation and analysis of subcontract tender packages to support high-quality, competitive tender submissions.

Work closely with bid teams, subcontractors and clients, and bring strong technical and commercial judgement to help secure new work for the business

You will oversee:

- Preparing take-offs, tender estimates and subcontractor pricing packages
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation for accuracy, risk and buildability
- Coordinating tender processes, including bid meetings, tender strategy meetings, site inspections and RFIs
- Managing subcontractor engagement, including issuing documentation, reviewing submissions and making recommendations
- Supporting expressions of interest, authority to tender documentation and client credit reporting
- Maintaining accurate tender records, subcontractor databases and competitor information

About you

You are an experienced Estimator or Quantity Surveyor with strong technical capability, commercial awareness and confidence working across complex tender processes. You are embedded in the Newcastle construction market and bring established local relationships,



including subcontractor contacts and industry connections that will support strong tender outcomes.

You enjoy leading and supporting others, building solid relationships, and bringing a detail-focused approach to every submission. You are comfortable interpreting drawings and specifications, identifying risks and opportunities, and working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality tender outcomes. You bring a proactive mindset, take pride in your work and value SHAPE’s focus on safety, integrity, professionalism and teamwork.

You will bring:

- 5+ years’ experience in estimating or quantity surveying, ideally within fitout and refurbishment
- A strong subcontractor network and the ability to leverage local market relationships
- The ability to develop construction programmes and assess buildability
- Experience using Procore or similar project delivery systems
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail and commercial judgement
- A positive, accountable and team-focused mindset
