About the role

1087 Garage is an automotive repair and maintenance workshop in North Melbourne. We provide professional vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, diagnostics and maintenance for a wide range of passenger vehicles. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our growing team in a full-time, permanent role of 38 hours per week.

What you'll do
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment and testing procedures
Inspect, maintain, service and repair petrol and diesel vehicles
Repair and replace engine, transmission, braking, steering and suspension components
Perform scheduled servicing, oil changes and preventative maintenance
Diagnose and repair cooling systems, fuel systems and vehicle electrical systems
Conduct road tests to identify faults and verify completed repairs
Interpret technical manuals and manufacturer specifications
Maintain accurate service and repair records
Make sure all work complies with workplace health and safety requirements
Maintain workshop tools,



equipment and a clean working workplace

About you
Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent relevant qualification
Preferably a minimum of 3 years of relevant automotive mechanical experience
Strong knowledge of automotive mechanical systems and fault diagnosis
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication and problem-solving skills
Current driver's licence preferred
