ABOUT THE POSITION.
An established consultancy is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the team on an initial 3-month contract to assist with their busy pipeline of work. This is a hands‑on role for an experienced engineer who can pick up live projects and hit the ground running. There is potential for extension or transition into a permanent position depending on the workload.
DUTIES.
Mechanical services design on residential and commercial projects
Carry out load calculations, duct and fan sizing and equipment selections
Prepare and review drawings, technical specifications and detailed reports
Coordinate with architects, other disciplines and the wider project team to resolve design issues and ensure all project requirements are met
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers
Conduct site inspections as required
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
Comprehensive knowledge of Australian codes and standards (essential)
Proficiency with Bluebeam, Camel, Revit and AutoCAD
Solid verbal and written communication skills, with confidence dealing directly with clients and consultants
