As we move into the busiest time of year, we're keen for a passionate, experienced and efficient Bar Manager to join the team and help provide the best experience for customers.
Communion Brewing Co is a vibrant brew pub in the seaside town of Burnie, Tasmania.
We're proud to provide a beautiful space and warm welcome for loyal locals and tourists to come as they are, to sit back, catch up, wind down, romance and debate over good food and award-winning beers.
Our 500L brewery, 120 seat restaurant (with full bar offering), and relaxed beer garden keep the punters happy, and we've become a key venue for events and functions.
You will be responsible for:
Working closely with the Venue Manager to support the day-to-day operation and overall success of the venue
Leading, coaching and developing the front of house team while maintaining a hands-on management presence
Taking ownership of bar operations, service standards and team performance during shifts
Delivering exceptional customer experiences and confidently managing customer concerns and operational challenges
Assisting with bar ordering, stock control, inventory systems and supplier relationships while maintaining high presentation and cleanliness standards
Ensuring all opening and closing procedures are completed accurately, including cash handling, till reconciliation,



security and venue compliance requirements
Driving a positive team culture through strong leadership, clear communication, staff development and a commitment to workplace health and safety
About you:
Genuine passion for craft beer, wine, food and creating memorable customer experiences
Confident hospitality enthusiast with a warm and informed approach to customer service
Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers, staff and suppliers
Excellent attention to detail and organised approach (we run a tight ship!)
Available and willing to work a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays, opening and closing shifts
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop team members
A proactive problem solver who remains calm and professional in a quick-paced environment
High standards of presentation, cleanliness and venue compliance
Confidence managing stock, ordering, cash handling and day-to-day operational responsibilities
Reliable, accountable and willing to take ownership of outcomes rather than simply complete tasks
