The Role Reporting to the Manager Environment and Regulatory Services, you will protect public safety, environmental quality and community amenity across a broad portfolio, including parking and abandoned vehicles, animal management, local nuisance and litter, By-Laws and fire prevention.
You will also support environmental health, building and planning compliance within relevant delegations.
Responsibilities Undertake inspections, investigate complaints and alleged offences, gather evidence and take appropriate enforcement action Interpret and apply legislation, By-Laws, policies and procedures Manage compliance across parking, animal management, nuisance, litter and fire prevention Prepare investigation reports, notices, briefs and regulatory documentation Liaise with residents, businesses, Council staff and government agencies,



and guide colleagues on compliance matters About You Experience in compliance, regulatory services or investigations Ability to interpret and apply legislation with sound judgement Robust investigation, report-writing and record-keeping skills Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills Independence, initiative and the ability to manage competing priorities A Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services) and Fire Prevention Officer certification, or willingness to obtain them, will be highly regarded, as will local government experience.
