With a stable workforce, experienced site leadership team, and continued investment across its Queensland operations, the business offers an excellent opportunity to take ownership of critical safety and training systems while contributing to the ongoing performance of the site.
The Role Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll be a key member of the Site Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing health, safety, training, and compliance across the operation.
You'll lead the site's HST function, maintaining and improving the Safety and Health Management System, managing legislative compliance, and ensuring effective training, risk management, occupational hygiene, and emergency management systems are in place.
This is a role that combines strategic leadership with hands-on operational involvement.
You'll work closely with department managers, supervisors, and frontline employees to drive continuous improvement and maintain a strong safety culture.




The business is open to experienced HST Superintendents or capable Senior HST Advisors looking to take the next step in their careers.
Duties: Lead and support the site's Health, Safety Training team Maintain, review, and continuously improve the Safety and Health Management System Ensure compliance with Queensland coal mining legislation, recognised standards, and site procedures Facilitate internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews Lead risk management initiatives, incident investigations, and corrective actions Requirements: Experience of Health, Safety Training management within a mining setting Relevant qualification in Occupational Health Safety Experience managing safety systems, training compliance, audits, and risk management Ability to lead incident investigations and facilitate formal risk assessments Benefits $180,000 base salary + Super Additional $18,000 site allowance 20% STIP bonus 9-day fortnight – 5:2 / 4:3 roster Paid flights from Brisbane or DIDO allowance from Mackay Permanent position at an established, stable mining operation Direct reporting line to the General Manager Opportunity for an experienced Senior HST Advisor to step into a Superintendent position Work within an established mining business with operations across the Bowen Basin If you're interested just click APPLY or contact Jeremy Nicholls, Lead Consultant on ************ for a confidential discussion.
