This is fantastic opportunity for someone returning to the workforce or studying, looking for varied, community driven position.Mercy Community Lowood is dedicated to strengthening familiesby providing them with access to a wide range of local community resourcesin the Somerset Region.This role provides support to our Lowood Early Years Service and Services Australia.What you'll be doingThis role is responsible for quality service delivery to children, young people, families and the community through the Lowood Hub inclusive of the Integrated Early Years' Service, Targeted Family Support Program and Services Australia Agent Services as well as the Lowood Community Centre.Some of your key duties will include (but not limited to)Deliver group work, educational and support activities and programs for parents and children including but not limited to playgroupsProvide support and intervention, where necessary, to families of children and young people in line with the family's planSupport and provide opportunities for life and personal skill development for clientsProvide in-person support as a Services Australia AgentAbout youAs the successful applicant, you will possess:Relevant qualifications (certificate or higher); AND demonstrated experience in working with children and/or vulnerable familiesSound knowledge and understanding of the Queensland Child Protection systemQueensland Provisional Green or above Driver's LicenceAbility to obtain positive notice in the legislatively required personal history check in linewith service stream compliance requirementsEvidence of current vaccination against whooping cough or willingness to obtain prior tocommencementPrevious experience in strengths-based casework with complex familiesBroad knowledge of safe parenting practices and child healthCommunity development experienceAn understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and societies and the issues which impact upon them in contemporary society together with a commitment to culturally appropriate engagement and practiceWhy Mercy CommunityMercy Community a Catholic not-for-profit that provides a wide range of services supporting families and young people, people living with a disability and the elderly.
