Our client is an established Australian engineering and manufacturing business providing innovative safety, access and engineered solutions to the mining and heavy industrial sectors.
With a strong focus on customer led design and problem solving, they work closely with clients to develop both standard and customised solutions that improve safety, efficiency and equipment maintenance.Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint a technically minded and commercially driven Technical Sales Consultant to join their sales team.
Your new role
This is a hands-on sales position combining proactive business development, account management and solution based selling.
You will work closely with customers to understand their operational requirements and collaborate with internal engineering and technical teams to provide suitable solutions.
Proactively identifying and developing new business opportunities
Conducting outbound sales calls and following up prospective customers
Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing clients
Managing customer enquiries from initial contact through to order
Conducting face-to-face customer meetings and solution-based sales discussions
Working closely with engineering and technical teams to develop tailored customer solutions




Processing and recording sales and maintaining accurate CRM information
Identifying opportunities to increase sales across existing accounts
Monitoring competitor activity and broader market trends
Providing feedback to the wider business regarding customer and market requirements
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience within technical, industrial or solution based sales
Experience within mining, engineering, manufacturing, safety products or a related industrial market would be highly regarded
A strong commercial mindset with a genuine drive to achieve sales targets
Confidence conducting outbound business development and following up
opportunities
The ability to understand customer requirements and identify appropriate
solutions
A technically minded approach and willingness to learn complex products
Experience preparing quotations and progressing opportunities through a sales
pipeline
Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
The ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative sales
environment
