Civil Engineer contract working across road and heavy vehicle assessments.

Join a large organisation responsible for managing and maintaining critical road infrastructure across the Gold Coast region.
Based in Nerang, you will work within an established technical team supporting the safe and effective operation of the road network.
Your New Role
As a Civil Engineer, you will assess heavy vehicle permit applications and provide technically sound recommendations regarding access to the road network.
Your responsibilities will include:
Assessing heavy vehicle permit applications, proposed routes and supporting documentation.
Undertaking engineering assessments considering vehicle dimensions and mass, road geometry, turning movements, clearances and infrastructure constraints.
Identifying risks and recommending appropriate access conditions or reasons for refusal.
Preparing detailed technical assessment notes and recommendations.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to obtain technical information and clarify route constraints.
Applying relevant legislation, engineering standards, policies and guidelines.
Maintaining accurate assessment records and documentation.
What You'll Need to Succeed
A four-year Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)



accredited under the Washington Accord, or an equivalent qualification accepted by Engineers Australia.
Current Class C driver's licence.
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles relating to roads and transport infrastructure.
Ability to interpret technical information and identify infrastructure constraints and risks.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prepare clear technical assessments and engineering recommendations.
Strong organisation and stakeholder engagement skills.
