We are currently partnering with a leading organisation delivering complex engineering and technology solutions and are seeking an experienced
Principal Systems Engineer
to support the integration and delivery of safety-critical systems within a highly technical environment.
This opportunity is suited to engineers who combine strong technical foundations with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset and who understand how engineering process, governance and assurance contribute to successful project outcomes.
About the Role
Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will play a key role in the integration, verification and delivery of complex systems and technologies.
Responsibilities may include:
Leading systems integration activities across software, hardware, controls and operational technologies
Defining and managing technical requirements, interfaces and engineering deliverables
Working closely with vendors, OEMs and multidisciplinary engineering teams
Supporting verification, validation and integration readiness activities
Resolving complex technical and integration challenges across multiple systems
Driving engineering governance, traceability and quality outcomes
Supporting deployment, operational readiness and continuous improvement initiatives
Providing technical leadership across safety-critical and mission-critical environments
About You
You will ideally come from a highly regulated and technically demanding engineering environment such as:

Automotive

Industrial Automation
Mining Technology
You will bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
Systems Engineering
Systems Integration
Verification & Validation (V&V;)
Functional Safety
Requirements Management
Engineering Assurance
Technical Governance
Platform, Vehicle or Equipment Integration
Safety-Critical Systems
You will also demonstrate:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
The ability to balance engineering rigour with practical delivery outcomes
Experience working with internal stakeholders, vendors and external partners
A cooperative approach with strong communication and leadership skills
Highly Regarded
Experience with HIL, SIL or simulation-based environments
Experience with embedded, control or autonomous systems
Exposure to OEM or vendor-integrated solutions
Experience within mining, defence, aerospace, automotive or industrial technology sectors
Familiarity with tools and methodologies such as DOORS, Rhapsody, V-Model, ISO *****, IEC ***** or similar engineering frameworks
