Waterline Boathouse is looking for a confident, capable and reliable Boat & Watercraft Hire Attendant to join our team.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has a genuine knowledge of boats, enjoys being out on the water and has excellent customer service skills.

You will be responsible for preparing and maintaining our hire fleet, assisting customers, providing boat operating instructions and ensuring the safe operation of our boats and watercraft on Wallis Lake.

Key Responsibilities

- Preparing, cleaning and maintaining hire boats and watercraft.

- Conducting pre-hire safety checks and ensuring equipment is ready for use.

- Welcoming customers and providing clear instructions on boat operation, navigation and safety.

- Demonstrating boat controls and explaining safe operating procedures.

- Monitoring hire boats on the water and assisting customers when required.

- Responding confidently and appropriately to breakdowns, emergencies and rescue situations.

- Carrying out on-water assistance and recovery when necessary.

- Assisting with kayaks,



stand-up paddleboards and other watercraft.

- Ensuring a clean, safe and organised hire area.

Essential Requirements

- Current NSW General Boat Licence – essential.

- Sound practical knowledge of boats, boat handling and marine operations.

- Confidence in operating boats and undertaking on-water assistance and recovery.

- Ability to identify potential risks and respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to confidently instruct customers with varying levels of boating experience.

- Excellent customer service and a friendly, qualified manner.

- Reliable, responsible and safety-conscious.

- Must be available to work weekends, NSW school holidays and public holidays.

- Flexibility to work during peak trading periods is essential.

- Previous experience in boat hire, marine operations, vessel maintenance or a similar environment will be highly regarded.
