About the role

An Indian Affair is seeking enthusiastic and friendly Waitress/Front Staff to join our team in Armidale. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst providing exceptional customer service in our welcoming restaurant environment. You will be the face of our establishment, creating memorable dining experiences for our guests as they enjoy authentic Indian cuisine. This role is perfect for individuals seeking flexible work that allows them to develop valuable hospitality skills whilst maintaining work-life balance.

Key responsibilities

- Greeting and seating guests in a warm and professional manner

- Taking food and beverage orders accurately and entering them into the point-of-sale system

- Serving meals and drinks promptly and courteously to all customers

- Attending to guest needs throughout their dining experience and responding to requests promptly

- Clearing tables efficiently and maintaining a clean, hygienic dining area

- Providing knowledgeable recommendations about menu items and special offers

- Processing payments and managing cash transactions accurately

- Collaborating with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations

- Maintaining professional appearance and adhering to workplace health and safety standards

What we're looking for

- Previous experience in waitressing or front-of-house hospitality roles is highly desirable

- Excellent communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour

- Strong customer service focus with the ability to remain calm under pressure

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively





- Attention to detail and accuracy when taking orders and processing payments

- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays

- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and carry items safely

- Reliability and punctuality

- A genuine interest in providing excellent service and creating positive guest experiences

- Knowledge of Indian cuisine or willingness to learn about our menu is advantageous

Work Hours:

- Monday to Tuesday: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM

- Friday and Saturday: 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM

- Sunday: 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
