The Opportunity

Our client, a leading Australian retail organisation, is seeking an experienced Transition & Cutover Manager on a 6 month ftc to support a major enterprise technology transformation.

The program will impact approximately 3,000 employees and involves multiple deployment waves across workforce management, payroll and employee information systems. Working closely with the program leadership team, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing all transition and cutover activities, ensuring each deployment is delivered successfully and transitioned into stable business operations.

This is a highly visible role requiring a strong delivery professional who can bring structure, governance and control to a complex multi-stakeholder environment.

What You'll Be Doing

- Develop and manage detailed transition and cutover plans, including milestones, dependencies and resource requirements.
- Coordinate multiple deployment waves, ensuring business and technical activities are aligned and sequenced appropriately.
- Act as the central point of coordination across business teams, technology teams, vendors and implementation partners.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies and overall transition governance.
- Coordinate release activities, deployment schedules and change freeze periods.
- Develop contingency and rollback plans to minimise implementation risk.




- Lead business and technical readiness assessments and ensure all deployment prerequisites are met.
- Define and facilitate go/no-go processes, including readiness reporting and stakeholder sign-off.
- Establish and manage hypercare and issue triage processes following go-live.
- Monitor post-implementation stability and coordinate the transition to BAU support.
- Provide clear reporting and communication to program leadership throughout the transition lifecycle.

About You

Essential Experience

- Proven experience as a Transition Manager, Cutover Manager, Implementation Manager, Release Manager or Project Manager on large-scale technology implementations.
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing detailed cutover and deployment plans.
- Experience managing phased or wave-based implementations.
- Strong understanding of go-live, business readiness, release management, hypercare and operational handover.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholder groups across business, technology and vendor organisations.
- Experience operating within complex, multi-vendor environments.
- Strong risk, dependency and RAID management capability.
- Proficiency with Jira and project delivery tools.
- Exceptional planning, organisation and stakeholder engagement skills.

Desirable Experience

- Workforce management, payroll, ERP, CRM or enterprise SaaS implementations.
- Large-scale employee-impacting technology transformations.
- Retail, multi-site or customer-facing operating environments.
- Workforce management or payroll transformation programs.
