This is an important membership organisation…
This exceptional nonprofit provides support and essential expertise to the many different organisations that hold the fabric of our communities together. Enterprises like kindergartens, sporting clubs, food banks, homelessness groups and palliative care organisations, among others that need informed advice so they can operate with confidence, compliance and care.
…and this role, brings it all together.
Following the arrival of a recent CEO in late 2025, a review of business practices has led to the establishment of a new leadership role for a tested Financial Services Manager. The ideal candidate will be a skilled (and suitably qualified) financial all-rounder who is meticulously organised and powered by an analytical mind that thrives on change.
As a growth-oriented and people-focused Financial Services Manager, you'll bring a strong background in the community or nonprofit sector. This experience will have equipped you with the commercial insight and sector understanding to quickly assess the organisation's current position within its operating landscape.
From there, you'll help shape its future direction by evaluating existing systems, processes and practices. You’ll also help identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend enhancements that strengthen capability, support sustainable growth and future-proof the organisation.
You’ll model a constructive,
growth-focused mind set…
Armed with your clear understanding of where the business is headed, you’ll initially focus on understanding member requirements and developing your team’s potential strengths. Translating complex financial ideas, offering scope and measured risk, you’ll build each person’s confidence and capabilities through conversation, explanation, upskilling and coaching.
Clearly, the rest of the role should be very familiar to an experienced, professional finance manager with nonprofit grounding. It includes all aspects of month-end financial reporting, internal payroll, billing and administration, the maintenance of user access on supplier platforms like MYOB, Quickbooks Online and Xero, in addition to the management of STP, super, BAS and all other compliance obligations.
Alongside delivering high-quality outcomes for members and stakeholders, you'll have the opportunity to drive continuous improvement, enhance processes and help build the organisation's future capability.
This is an interesting and collaborative leadership role. What makes it particularly satisfying is that you can see where your financial experience and analytical skills are directly benefiting the community and its people.
