PROJECT MANAGER - Land Development

- Convenient Brisbane CBD location close to all transport needs
- Land Development & Subdivisions - Project Delivery - Client & Contractor Management
- This would be one of Australia’s finest and most respected consultancies
- Young culture / great vibe / employee of choice
- Great salary $167-153K depending on experience

You've developed your civil engineering expertise. Now it's time to take ownership of the projects.

- You've spent years working on land development projects, coordinating designs, dealing with contractors and helping deliver subdivisions.
- You understand that successful project delivery involves considerably more than producing engineering drawings.
- It's about coordinating people, managing programmes, resolving problems on site and ensuring projects progress from design through to construction and completion.
- Perhaps you're currently a Project Engineer who is ready for greater responsibility.
- Or you're already managing projects and looking for an opportunity to become more involved in the broader delivery of urban and land development work.

Take responsibility for projects from design through to delivery

- This is an opportunity to become involved in the coordination and management of residential subdivisions and urban development projects.
- You'll work closely with Civil Engineers, Designers, contractors, consultants, developers and relevant authorities to ensure projects progress efficiently and meet client expectations.
- The consultancy is particularly interested in someone who understands how subdivisions are delivered in practice.
- Someone who can move comfortably between the office, construction sites and client meetings, resolving issues and keeping projects moving.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing and coordinating land development and residential subdivision projects.
- Overseeing project programmes, resources, consultants and delivery milestones.
- Coordinating civil engineering design requirements with construction activities.
- Undertaking site inspections and liaising directly with contractors and site personnel.
- Preparing and reviewing tender documentation, quantities and construction contracts.
- Managing contract administration, variations and construction-related correspondence.

- Undertaking contract administration and superintendent duties as required.
- Monitoring project budgets, progress claims, invoicing and financial performance.
- Liaising with developers, clients, councils, authorities and other project stakeholders.
- Resolving technical and construction issues to maintain project progress.
- Ensuring work complies with relevant engineering standards, quality requirements and WHS obligations.

This is a hands-on project delivery role where your judgement, organisation and communication skills will make a genuine difference.

Land development experience is essential

- We're not looking for a Project Manager whose experience is limited to buildings, mining or major infrastructure.
- The successful person will have a sound understanding of urban and land development, particularly residential subdivisions and associated civil infrastructure.
- You'll appreciate the relationship between civil design, approvals, contractors, construction programmes and the practical issues that arise during subdivision delivery.

Ideally, you'll have experience across:

- Residential subdivisions and urban development projects.
- Roads, stormwater drainage, earthworks and associated civil infrastructure.
- Civil construction coordination and contractor management.
- Design coordination and liaison with engineering consultants.
- Tendering, contracts, variations and construction administration.
- Client liaison, project reporting and stakeholder management.
- Managing project programmes, budgets and delivery outcomes.

You don't necessarily need to be the person carrying out the detailed civil design.

However, you do need to understand the engineering well enough to coordinate the work, identify issues and communicate confidently with the people responsible for delivering it.

What we're looking for:

- A qualification in Civil Engineering,

Construction Management or a related discipline.
- Approximately five or more years' relevant experience, with a strong background in land development and subdivisions.
- Previous experience as a Project Engineer, Civil Engineer or Project Manager involved in subdivision delivery.
- A practical understanding of civil construction methods and project coordination.
- Experience dealing directly with contractors, consultants, developers and local authorities.
- Knowledge of tender documentation, contract administration and construction processes.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing project priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to monitor project costs and delivery programmes.
- A proactive approach to resolving problems and keeping projects moving.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes responsibility.
Someone who communicates well, follows through on commitments and understands the importance of delivering a successful outcome for both the client and the consultancy.

An opportunity to become a more complete Project Manager

- This position offers the chance to strengthen your project management capabilities while remaining closely involved in the technical and practical aspects of civil engineering.
- You'll gain further exposure to construction coordination, client relationships, commercial management and the delivery of subdivision projects.
- For an experienced Project Engineer, it could be the opportunity to establish yourself as a Project Manager.
- For someone already operating at that level, it offers the chance to contribute your experience within an established Brisbane consultancy.

Your next move should give you more ownership.
If you've developed your career in land development and subdivisions and are now looking for greater responsibility, more client involvement and the opportunity to manage projects from design through to construction, this position deserves a confidential conversation.
