Senior Consultant - Software Engineering

Senior / Principal Software Engineer - AI/ML, Data Platforms & DevSecOps | NV1 Clearance
12-month contract | Canberra (or Sydney with regular travel to Canberra)

My client is looking for a Senior/Principal Consultant for a 12month contract based in Canberra/Sydney. This is a hands-on role on complex, high-impact data platforms, using modern cloud-native technology in secure environments. The role can be pitched at Senior or Principal level depending on your experience. At Principal level, you’ll also lead architecture and delivery, and act as a trusted technical advisor to clients.

What we’re looking for

- Solid software engineering skills in JavaScript, TypeScript and Python, ideally including AI/ML and MLOps use cases
- Experience building standalone web applications (SPA and three-tier)



and developing Python libraries
- Kubernetes and containerised processing
- Distributed data processing systems, handling both structured and unstructured data
- API and SDK development
- Sound knowledge of PKI and other security protocols
- CI/CD and cloud-native architecture
- DevOps and DevSecOps experience with vertically integrated systems
- Experience with Apache Cassandra and Apache Pulsar is highly desirable

For Principal level, you’ll also bring

- A track record leading the architecture and delivery of complex data platforms
- Confidence leading client engagement with both technical and business stakeholders
