The Opportunity Perigon Group is partnering with a well-established national professional services business to recruit a Payroll Manager. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll take ownership of a critical payroll function supporting both a large contractor workforce and internal employees. This is a hands-on leadership role combining payroll operations, reporting, compliance and team management, with responsibility for ensuring accurate and timely payroll delivery across multiple states. Based in Fortitude Valley, you'll work closely with finance, operations and HR while leading one direct report and driving ongoing process improvements across the function. The Role Key responsibilities include:End-to-end ownership of contractor and employee payrollOversight of weekly contractor payroll and fortnightly employee payroll cyclesPayroll tax, superannuation, IAS, workers' compensation and statutory reportingPayroll reconciliations, reporting and month-end accrualsManagement and development of a Payroll OfficerMaintaining payroll compliance across multiple jurisdictionsProcess improvement,



documentation and payroll systems administrationAudit support and stakeholder management across the businessActing as the key payroll subject matter expertAbout You You will bring:Demonstrated experience in a Payroll Manager, Payroll Lead or Senior Payroll positionStrong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and statutory obligationsExperience managing payroll within a complex or multi-state environmentStrong reporting, reconciliation and compliance capabilitiesPrevious people leadership or mentoring experienceExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsA proactive approach and continuous improvement mindsetExperience within labour hire, recruitment, professional services or contractor-heavy environments will be highly regarded.
