About the role

We’re seeking an experienced Refrigeration Project Manager / Engineer to join Chilled Group Services on a full-time basis, based in Lane Cove West, NSW. The work covers commercial refrigeration projects for supermarket, hospitality and commercial clients across Greater Sydney and regional NSW.

This is a hands-on delivery role with a direct line to the Managing Director. You’ll work closely with our install teams, clients’ engineers and builders to deliver projects on time, on budget and to a high standard of quality and safety.

Key responsibilities

- Take handover of awarded projects ranging from small to medium size, then review the contract, scope, drawings and budget
- Finalise system design, including load checks, plant and evaporator selections, and pipe sizing
- Plan and run projects, including programs, procurement, subcontractors and site coordination
- Coordinate install crews and liaise with builders, clients and suppliers on site
- Oversee installation, commissioning and testing, including controls and monitoring setup (Carel, Danfoss or similar)
- Manage project documentation such as SWMS, ITPs, certifications, O&M; manuals and handover packs
- Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards, EPA/refrigerant regulations and WHS requirements
- Provide technical support on complex refrigeration problems, and mentor junior engineers and technicians





What we’re looking for

- A qualification in refrigeration or mechanical engineering, or a trade-qualified refrigeration mechanic background with strong project experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience refrigeration trade related
- Robust understanding of condensing units, coolrooms, freezer rooms, display cases and supermarket systems including racks,
- Experience with CO2/transcritical systems (highly regarded)
- Proven budget control, variation management and progress claim experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once without dropping detail
- Clear communicator who can deal confidently with clients, builders and site crews
- Current driver’s licence, White Card and willingness to travel to sites
