International Women's Development Agency (IWDA)
Melbourne
Great opportunity to create campaigns that inspire giving and power change. Come join us as a Fundraising Campaigns Coordinator.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract position to cover parental leave.
About IWDA
International Women’s Development Agency (IWDA) is an Australian-based organisation, resourcing diverse women’s rights organisations (WROs) primarily in the Asia and the Pacific. We provide support that goes beyond money and contribute to global feminist movements to advance our vision of gender equality for all.
Our Vision: Gender equality for all
Our Purpose: To defend and advance the rights of women, girls and gender diverse people
Our Values: Feminist, Decolonial, Accountable, Collaborative, Transformative
We are committed to building a resilient and relevant feminist and decolonial organisation, and to becoming an explicitly anti-racist organisation. Anchored by lessons from our 40-year history and guided by fiercely held feminist and decolonial values, our Strategic Plan 2025 - 2035 lays out IWDA’s path towards realising our vision of gender equality for all.
Our strategic goals are to shift resources to women’s rights organisations, strengthen feminist movements, advance feminist and decolonial knowledge, and model a different way of being as a feminist organisation.
At IWDA, how we work is as important as what we do. Our 4S Framework guides us to step up and use our power to create change, stand with feminist movements in solidarity, step back when others are better placed to lead, and sit with uncertainty through deep listening and collective learning.
The Opportunity:
Great fundraising campaigns do more than raise money – they build connections, inspire action and bring more people into the movement for women's rights. At IWDA, our fundraising campaigns help mobilise supporters and resources for feminist movements across Asia and the Pacific.
As Fundraising Campaigns Coordinator, you'll coordinate the delivery of public fundraising campaigns and appeals from planning through to evaluation, bringing together creative campaign delivery, donor insights and data-driven optimisation. You'll play an important role in acquiring new donors, strengthening relationships with mid-value donors and ensuring our fundraising campaigns continue to grow in reach, engagement and impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of integrated, multi-channel fundraising campaigns and appeals, including approximately three major campaigns annually.
- Plan, develop, deliver and analyse IWDA's annual Donor Survey, translating insights into opportunities to strengthen fundraising and donor engagement.
- Develop and implement digital acquisition and lead generation campaigns to attract recent supporters and grow IWDA's donor base.
- Develop and deliver thoughtful and engaging stewardship activities for mid-value donors, strengthening donor relationships and retention.
- Collaborate with the Supporter Engagement Coordinator to develop and deliver stewardship activities for individual and regular givers.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with fundraising suppliers and consultants, coordinating campaign delivery and addressing challenges as they arise.
- Monitor and analyse campaign performance, donor behaviour and key performance indicators, identifying insights and recommendations for ongoing optimisation.
- Prepare campaign performance data and analysis for fundraising reports and organisational decision-making, including contributions to the Executive team, Funding Forum and Board.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated experience coordinating and delivering fundraising campaigns, appeals or integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
- Experience in donor acquisition, digital lead generation, fundraising marketing or donor stewardship, ideally within a fundraising or not-for-profit environment.
- Strong experience analysing campaign performance, interpreting data and using insights to inform campaign optimisation and decision-making.
- Experience developing donor communications, campaign content or engagement activities that support donor acquisition, retention and stewardship.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate external suppliers, consultants and internal stakeholders to deliver campaigns and projects effectively.
- Experience preparing campaign reports, analysing performance against targets and communicating insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with fundraising CRM systems, digital campaign platforms, donor databases or campaign analytics tools.
A Little About You
You are an organised, curious and collaborative fundraising professional who enjoys bringing campaigns to life and understanding what motivates people to give. You combine strong campaign coordination skills with a genuine interest in donor behaviour, using data and insights to make fundraising more effective and supporter experiences more meaningful.
You enjoy working across creative, digital and analytical aspects of fundraising, balancing attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger picture. You build positive relationships, communicate clearly and take initiative to keep campaigns moving. Most importantly, you are motivated by the opportunity to connect supporters with feminist movements and contribute to meaningful change for women and girls.
You will bring
- Strong campaign coordination and project management skills, with the ability to plan, organise and deliver multiple activities and deadlines effectively.
- A data-minded approach and confidence working with campaign performance metrics, donor insights and reporting to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to develop engaging donor communications and contribute to compelling fundraising campaigns.
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers, consultants and other stakeholders.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, demonstrating initiative, adaptability and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to feminist values and women's rights, with an appreciation of the role fundraising and supporter engagement play in sustaining feminist movements.
If you’re excited about this role but your experience doesn’t align perfectly with every criterion, we encourage you to apply. We value growth, potential and transferable skills.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
IWDA uses a mechanism in the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic) called the “Special Measures Exception” which aims to advance substantive equality for marginalised groups. We accept applications from people with a gender identity that is adversely impacted by the patriarchy in terms of employment and leadership opportunities: women, non-binary, trans and gender diverse people.
IWDA uses the term “women” to be inclusive of both trans and cis women. Likewise, IWDA welcomes people with different skills and life experiences, and encourages First Nations women, women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women with disabilities, women from migrant and refugee backgrounds, trans, non-binary, and gender diverse people to apply. Preference will be given to applicants who have experience in, or have cultural heritage from, one or more of the countries in which IWDA supports partners.
Safety, Safeguarding and Australian Work Rights
IWDA is committed to the safety and wellbeing of our staff and the children and other vulnerable people engaged in our programs. We have strong recruitment and safeguarding processes to support the selection of suitable candidates and maintain a safe and respectful workplace.
All applicants must be legally entitled to live and work in Australia. Any offer of employment will be subject to a National Police Check and endorsement of IWDA’s Safeguarding Code of Conduct.
The successful candidate will be expected to work from IWDA’s physical office in Naarm (Melbourne) at least two days per week, with flexibility supported through our hybrid working approach.
We look forward to hearing from people who share our commitment to gender equality, feminist movements and creating a more equitable and just world.
