About the Opportunity: Our client is an established steel fabrication and engineering business located just outside of Canberra.

Working across structural steel, architectural metalwork and general fabrication, the business offers a wide variety of projects, established welding procedures and high standards of quality and safety.

With a strong focus on internal training and development, this is an excellent opportunity for experienced welders and fabricators looking to expand their skills and progress their careers.

Key Responsibilities:

- MIG and TIG welding across a range of fabrication projects.
- Working with mild steel, stainless steel, brass and structural steel.
- Fabricating and assembling components to drawings and specifications.
- Following established welding procedures and quality standards.
- Operating workshop machinery and equipment safely.
- Assisting with site installations when required.
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.

About You:

- Previous welding and fabrication experience.
- Sound MIG and/or TIG welding skills.
- Experience with different metals and fabrication applications.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
- Reliable, hardworking and willing to learn.

Highly regarded but not essential:

- Forklift licence.
- Gantry crane experience.
- Dogging or rigging tickets.
- Structural steel or site installation experience.




- Additional welding qualifications or certifications.

Applications are welcomed from experienced welders and fabricators currently on valid Australian visas who have previous welding or fabrication experience in Australia. Applicants must hold current Australian working rights.
