About the Opportunity:

Our client is an established steel fabrication and engineering business located just outside of Canberra, seeking an experienced Truck Driver to support its delivery operations.

The role involves transporting structural steel, fabricated components and heavy materials to construction sites and customers throughout Canberra and surrounding areas.

This is a varied position offering the opportunity to operate different vehicles, from 4WDs through to heavy trucks and prime movers, depending on your experience and licensing.

Key Responsibilities:

- Delivering structural steel, fabricated components and heavy materials.
- Transporting goods to construction sites and commercial locations.
- Safely loading, securing and unloading loose steel and heavy goods.
- Operating a variety of vehicles and transmission types.
- Assisting with crane and lifting operations where appropriately licensed.
- Conducting vehicle inspections and safety checks.
- Following heavy vehicle regulations and load restraint requirements.
- Coordinating deliveries with the workshop and operations team.
- Maintaining professional and safe working practices.

About You:Essential:

- Minimum HR driver's licence.
- Experience loading, securing and unloading loose steel or other heavy materials.
- Strong understanding of load restraint and heavy vehicle regulations.
- Confidence operating different vehicle and transmission types.




- High level of safety awareness.
- Reliable, professional and flexible approach to work.

Highly regarded:

- HC or MC driver's licence, with MC particularly desirable.
- Previous steel or construction site delivery experience.
- Vehicle Loading Crane (CV) licence.
- Mobile crane licences such as C2, C6 or C0.
- Forklift licence.
- Dogging or rigging experience.
- Experience operating a diverse fleet.
