The company you’ll join
This iconic Australian manufacturer designs and builds premium, heavy-duty aluminium ute trays, canopies, toolboxes and wiring packages, engineered for work vehicles operating in the harshest conditions in the country.
Operating for more than 50 years, they’ve become one of the most recognised names in Australian 4WD and commercial vehicle fit-outs, with genuine brand pull among customers and industry professionals alike. Every product is designed and built in Australia from their Queensland head office using their own engineered extrusion profiles, so the spec approved on vehicle one is the spec delivered on vehicle thirty.
Their national footprint includes eight company-owned branches across five states (owned, not licensed), plus agents and exports to international markets including the USA, so a build fitted in WA can be supported wherever a fleet runs.
The product is the hero. Welded as one structure rather than bolted from panels, and backed by a lifetime workmanship guarantee, one build for a state government department is now on its sixth LandCruiser and 1.2 million kilometers, where competitor builds typically last one or two vehicles.
For operators where a vehicle off the road can cost around $2,500 a day, uptime is everything. Heavy reinvestment in manufacturing means fleet vehicles are typically in and out within a day or two, refurbishment programs return existing builds to service, and builds transfer to the next vehicle with only a few extra parts.
After five decades building for the explorers, fleet is now the strategic growth priority.
Factories have been geared for volume, a new Queensland manufacturing facility is under construction, and the national goal is for fleet to become an increasingly significant contributor to company revenues.
There’s plenty happening in WA already: a large Perth sales and fitting facility; a mining vehicle hire partnership at 150+ builds; a Tier 1 mining contractor approaching its 100th vehicle; and a fleet pipeline that includes several major mining equipment and services companies.
Backed by national manufacturing and fitment infrastructure, Australasian Fleet Management Association (AfMA) membership and a leadership team who built the fleet range from the ground up, they’re very well-positioned to accelerate growth across WA.
The impact you’ll make
An opportunity now exists for an experienced BDM to fly the flag in WA and open new doors across the state’s mining, resources and contractor fleets.
Initially, you’ll spend time learning the product range and how the business works, including some early exposure to the retail side. There’s no inherited pipeline, so from there you’ll build your own through your network and outbound prospecting.
Your focus is new business across mining, resources, civil and contractor businesses and vehicle hire companies, particularly the heavy-duty, off-road applications where the product outperforms.
You’ll work two fronts at once: site-level end users who ask for the product by name, and the fleet management organisations, leasing companies and finance providers that influence where fleet spend goes, positioning uptime and total cost of ownership with both.
Opportunities range from 20 vehicles to several hundred, from trays-only through to fully dressed supervisor vehicles.
Purchasing follows replacement cycles (typically 200,000-250,000km or set intervals), so major wins can take 12 months or more, and getting in early lets the design team have the right solution ready when the order drops.
Once scope is agreed, in-house design, manufacturing and the WA fitment team take care of the build and install, so your energy stays on opening doors, shaping specifications and positioning what the business does exceptionally well.
You’ll be based at their Perth-metro sales and fitting facility alongside the local sales team, reporting to the QLD-based National Sales Manager with backing from the national fleet leadership team. As WA’s dedicated fleet specialist, you’ll have real scope to shape how the channel is built and to grow with it.
The experience you’ll bring
To be considered for this role, you’ll bring:
- A proven track record selling fleet solutions into WA mining, resources, utilities, civil and/or commercial sectors, with demonstrated success winning new business and managing long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
- Ideally, a background selling vehicle-related solutions with an established network across WA fleet end users such as mining contractors, hire companies and Tier 1-aligned operators, including relationships with fleet management organisations and leasing or finance providers.
- Interested BDMs in FMOs, with end-user relationships and a strong understanding of how fleet buying decisions are made, are also encouraged to apply.
- A true hunter mentality: you’re comfortable prospecting, nurturing long-cycle opportunities and positioning a premium product against cheaper alternatives on uptime and total cost of ownership.
- Vehicle fit-out or 4WD product knowledge is advantageous but NOT required, as full product training is provided.
- Culturally, you’re a “positive person” with high integrity and a positive, hard-working, laid-back, helpful nature.
On offer, a competitive base salary package including fully maintained vehicle, commission structure, and the chance to build a career with an iconic Australian brand. Interviewing now!
