About the Role

SLR Automotive Moranbah is seeking an experienced Workshop Foreman / General Manager to join our growing independent mechanical workshop.

This is a senior position combining workshop leadership and technical automotive knowledge with the day-to-day management, customer service and administration of a busy mechanical workshop.

The role is ideally suited to an experienced Motor Mechanic or Diesel Motor Mechanic who is ready to transition away from full-time hands-on mechanical work while continuing to utilise their technical expertise and industry experience.

Working directly with the business owners, you will support technicians, coordinate workshop operations and manage customer, supplier and fleet requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate daily workshop workflow, scheduling and technician job allocation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to technicians, including repair planning.
- Review vehicle inspection findings and identify repair recommendations.
- Prepare customer quotations, estimates and repair recommendations.
- Manage customer enquiries and communicate repair progress.
- Source and order automotive parts and liaise with suppliers.
- Coordinate fleet servicing, maintenance requirements and purchase orders.
- Oversee job cards, invoicing and general workshop administration.
- Monitor workshop productivity and job progress.
- Assist with the efficient day-to-day management of workshop operations.

About You

- Extensive automotive workshop experience.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and technical understanding.
- Relevant Motor Mechanic or Diesel Motor Mechanic trade qualifications highly regarded.
- Previous workshop supervisory or management experience highly regarded.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.




- Confident communicating with customers, technicians and suppliers.
- Computer literate and comfortable using workshop management systems.
- Able to prioritise changing workshop demands.
- Capable of taking genuine ownership of the position.
