Job DescriptionMachine Learning Engineer – Computer Vision6-month initial contract | Melbourne | HybridWe are looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join a Melbourne-based organisation delivering production-grade AI and computer vision solutions.This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who has experience taking machine learning and computer vision models beyond experimentation and into real-world production environments.The roleYou will work across the development, deployment and optimisation of machine learning solutions, with a particular focus on computer vision.You will be involved across the ML lifecycle — from data preparation and model development through to deployment, monitoring and ongoing improvement.What you will be doingDesign, build and optimise machine learning and computer vision modelsDevelop solutions across areas such as image classification, object detection, segmentation and/or video analyticsBuild production-quality ML applications and services using PythonDeploy and operate ML workloads within AWSDevelop scalable data and inference pipelinesEvaluate model performance and improve accuracy, reliability and efficiencyWork with engineering and business stakeholders to translate real-world problems into practical ML solutionsContribute to MLOps, automated deployment,



monitoring and model lifecycle managementWhat we are looking forYou will bring strong commercial experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Computer Vision Engineer or similar, including:Strong hands-on Python development skillsCommercial experience developing computer vision solutionsStrong understanding of machine learning and deep learning fundamentalsExperience with frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow and/or OpenCVExperience deploying ML solutions into AWS cloud environmentsUnderstanding of production ML/MLOps practicesExperience building scalable, maintainable and well-tested production codeStrong problem-solving and communication skillsExperience with AWS services used for machine learning, containerisation, CI/CD and production model deployment will be highly regarded.The opportunityThis is an initial 6-month contract with a Melbourne-based team offering a hybrid working arrangement.You will have the opportunity to work on genuine computer vision problems where machine learning is being applied to real-world use cases rather than purely proof-of-concept work.If you are a Machine Learning Engineer with robust Computer Vision, Python and AWS experience, apply now or get in touch for a confidential discussion.
