About the Role

The Technical Developer is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting robust business solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, primarily focusing on Power BI, Power Apps, and Power Automate.

You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into practical, secure, and maintainable digital solutions that improve reporting, automate manual processes, strengthen access to information, and support better decision-making within a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Power BI & Analytics: Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions; build data models and measures using DAX; integrate Power Query for data transformation; optimise performance, usability, and accessibility; and implement Row-Level Security.
- Power Apps Development: Design, develop, and maintain Model-driven Power Apps to digitise and streamline complex business processes, applying user-centred design and responsive design principles.
- Workflow Automation & Integration: Develop Power Automate workflows for approvals, notifications, and process automation, integrating solutions with corporate applications and data sources via standard or custom connectors and APIs.
- Technical Delivery & Support:



Translate business requirements into clear technical designs; collaborate with business analysts, data specialists, solution architects, and cyber security teams; perform testing, debugging, release management, and production support while ensuring full compliance with information security, privacy, and governance policies.

What You'll Bring

Essential Criteria

- Experience: Minimum 3 to 4 years of demonstrated hands-on experience developing and supporting solutions in Power BI and Power Apps.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query, data modelling, relational databases, and positive SQL skills.
- Automation & Integration: Proven experience developing workflows using Power Automate and integrating applications via APIs or connectors.
- Security & Problem-Solving: Solid understanding of application security, identity, access control, and data protection, paired with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Communication: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

Highly Desirable Criteria

- Experience with REST APIs, custom connectors, and integration patterns.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, automated deployment, or similar lifecycle management practices.
- Background in delivering solutions within government or large, complex enterprise environments.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications in Power Platform, Power BI, Azure, or related technologies.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Management, or a related discipline.
