LEOCATAS-MC-GOULBURN-VALLEY MC Drivers Wanted – Goulburn Valley & Melbourne Leocata’s Transport is looking for experienced MC Truck Drivers to join its transport operations based in Tatura. Ideally, the company is looking for drivers based throughout the Goulburn Valley. However, a Melbourne-based arrangement may also be considered for suitable applicants. If you enjoy variety, this isn’t a job where every week necessarily looks the same. You’ll transport a wide range of freight across interstate, intrastate and regional operations. Leocata’s also works hard to maintain a one truck, one driver approach wherever possible. For professional drivers who take pride in their equipment and enjoy traditional hands-on transport work backed by contemporary technology, this could be a great fit. Why Drive for Leocata’s Transport?
- Regional transport
- Wide variety of loads
- Tatura-based operation
- Melbourne-based arrangement may be considered
- One truck, one driver wherever possible
- Variety from week to week
- Dogs and chains
- Tarping when required
- Modern EWD system
- Drivers are valued as an important part of the operation You’ll join Leocata’s Transport operations in Tatura, Victoria. The company transports a wide variety of freight, so drivers shouldn’t expect every week to follow exactly the same pattern. You’ll work across interstate, intrastate and regional freight movements. Some work involves flattop trailers, dogs and chains, load restraint and tarping. As a result, Leocata’s is looking for experienced drivers who understand that professional transport involves more than simply sitting behind the wheel. One Truck, One Driver Leocata’s Transport makes an effort to maintain a one truck, one driver arrangement. For drivers who take pride in their gear,
that’s an attractive part of the job. You’ll be expected to look after your truck, trailers and associated equipment. The company wants drivers who treat the equipment professionally and take pride in presenting and maintaining their combination. What You’ll Need To be considered, you’ll need:
- Current MC Licence
- Heavy vehicle driving experience
- Sound understanding of fatigue management
- Good load restraint knowledge
- Understanding of mass management
- Willingness to use transport apps
- Ability to use an Electronic Work Diary
- Qualified attitude towards equipment
- Willingness to work with flattop trailers
- Ability to use dogs and chains
- Willingness to tarp loads when required
- Understanding of the realities of interstate transport Importantly, the use of apps and technology is non-negotiable. Leocata’s Transport uses Electronic Work Diaries (EWDs) rather than paper work diaries. Drivers therefore need to be comfortable using technology as part of their everyday work. Apps and other digital systems are also part of the operation. If you’re prepared to combine traditional transport skills with modern technology, you’ll be better suited to the role. Flattops, Dogs, Chains & Tarping This role includes traditional hands-on freight work. Leocata’s uses flattop trailers, with drivers required to work with dogs and chains. Some loads will also require tarping.
That means practical load restraint knowledge and a willingness to get involved in securing freight are important. No Two Weeks Are Necessarily the Same One of the attractions of this position is the variety. You’ll transport different types of freight across interstate, intrastate and regional routes. As Leocata’s puts it, no two weeks are necessarily the same. For drivers who prefer variety over completing the same run every week, that can make the work much more interesting. A Realistic Interstate Roster Leocata’s is upfront about the realities of transport. This isn’t always a Monday-to-Friday job. There will be times when you’re home for the weekend. However, there will also be occasions when the work requires you to remain away over a weekend. The company recognises that family time is important. At the same time, applicants need to understand the flexibility required in interstate transport. Being clear about that from the beginning should help ensure the role suits both the driver and the business. About Leocata’s Transport Leocata’s Transport is an established logistics organisation with its head office in Tatura and a warehousing depot in Truganina. The company operates across interstate, intrastate and regional freight delivery. Its people are central to the operation, with a focus on delivering professional service while providing drivers with varied transport opportunities.
