SB Recruitment is partnering with a high growth financial services organisation to appoint a Legal Recoveries Lead who will play a pivotal role in building and scaling a national legal recoveries function. This is a rare opportunity for an experienced collections, recoveries or legal operations professional to lead strategy, drive commercial outcomes and help shape the future of an expanding business.

The Job.....
This is a hands on leadership role where you will balance strategy with execution, delivering solid commercial results while building scalable processes, systems and team capability.
Key responsibilities:

- Own gross profit across pre legal and legal, balancing revenue against cost to collect, with weekly targets and early action on variances
- Set litigation and enforcement strategy for each Australian jurisdiction, including file selection based on expected recovery
- Manage a high volume litigation pipeline from pre legal through to judgment and enforcement
- Lead the operational build of the in house practice, including matter management, workflows, court portal access, templates and reporting
- Bring outsourced matters in house to an agreed schedule
- Test and scale new ideas, such as digital pre legal treatments and automated document drafting and filing
- Keep every step compliant, with hardship and vulnerability identified before any legal action




- Build relationships with courts, external law firms, process servers, enforcement agents and tracing providers
- Lead and coach a team of pre legal collections officers and paralegals, and build a structure that scales with growth

You.....
You are a commercial, hands on leader who gets energy from building and is comfortable with ambiguity. You will bring:

- 5+ years experience manage a team across collections, recoveries or legal operations
- Demonstrated responsibility for financial performance, revenue targets or P&L; outcomes
- Strong knowledge of Australian debt recovery litigation and enforcement processes
- Experience leading operational change, transformation or business improvement initiatives
- Proven ability to build and scale teams through periods of growth
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- A commercially minded approach with the ability to balance customer outcomes and business objectives
- Resilience, adaptability and a genuine builder's mindset within fast moving environments
