About the Role

We are seeking an accurate, detail-oriented and reliable Construction Estimator to join the team on a full-time basis.

This is an important role within the business, responsible for reviewing construction plans, completing detailed quantity take-offs and preparing accurate, competitive project estimates and quotations.

Working across residential and commercial projects, you will collaborate with internal sales teams, project supervisors, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure estimates are comprehensive, commercially competitive and aligned with project requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of architectural drawings, material sourcing and estimating processes, together with the ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.





Key Responsibilities

- Review and interpret architectural drawings, construction plans, specifications and scopes of work to identify project requirements.
- Complete accurate quantity take-offs for materials, labour and associated construction requirements.
- Prepare detailed project cost breakdowns and estimates for residential and commercial projects.
- Obtain, review and assess quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure estimates and quotations are accurate, competitive and aligned with project scopes and required profit margins.
- Prepare and submit tenders and project quotations within specified deadlines.
- Liaise with internal sales teams and project supervisors regarding scope requirements and design variations.
- Communicate with suppliers and external vendors to clarify pricing, materials and project requirements.

About You

You are a methodical and commercially minded individual who takes pride in producing accurate work. You have a good understanding of construction plans, materials and estimating processes, and can confidently manage the detail involved in preparing project quotations.

Essential:

- Experience in a construction estimating role or a relevant background in construction estimating.
- Strong ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, construction plans and specifications.




- Understanding of material sourcing and quantity take-off processes.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good communication and stakeholder liaison skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.

Desirable:

- Experience using estimating software, ideally MeasureSquare.
- Experience preparing estimates for residential and commercial construction projects.
- Previous experience obtaining and negotiating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
