An established national civil infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Regional/Operations Manager to lead and grow its Tasmanian operations. Based in Hobart, this role combines leadership, business development, commercial management and operational oversight, supported by experienced construction, engineering and administration teams.
About the Opportunity
As Regional Manager, you will take full responsibility for the performance, growth and strategic direction of the Tasmanian business unit.
You will lead a diverse operation encompassing project delivery, contract management, client engagement, financial performance, tendering, workforce leadership and business development. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to an experienced industry skilled with strong commercial acumen and a track record of delivering successful outcomes across civil infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities

- Provide leadership and direction to regional operations, ensuring safe, profitable and efficient project delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government, local authority, contractor and industry stakeholders.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities through strategic business development activities.
- Prepare and oversee tenders, quotations and pricing submissions.
- Deliver technical solutions and consultative advice to clients.
- Manage project performance, commercial outcomes and contractual obligations.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting,



monthly reporting and financial management processes.
- Coordinate resources and project schedules in collaboration with operational teams.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across systems, processes and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legislative requirements and industry best practice standards.
- Foster a positive safety culture while promoting leadership, accountability and team development.

About You
To be successful, you will bring:

- Extensive experience within the civil construction, infrastructure or pavement sector.
- Demonstrated success in a senior leadership, operations management, business unit management or regional management role.
- Strong commercial and financial management capability.
- Proven experience managing construction contracts and project delivery outcomes.
- Established networks within the Tasmanian civil infrastructure, road maintenance or construction market.
- Strong business development and client relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- A proactive leadership style with the ability to influence, mentor and develop high-performing teams.
- Commitment to workplace safety, quality and operational excellence.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
