Fire Safety Engineer – Melbourne or Sydney

About the opportunity

We’re partnering with fire safety engineering consultancies in Melbourne and Sydney who are growing their teams in 2027. They’re hiring from Graduate through to Senior and Associate level, and want engineers who want to own their projects, work directly with clients and progress their careers.

What you’ll be doing

- Developing Performance Solutions to meet the NCC
- Preparing Fire Engineering Briefs (FEBs) and Fire Engineering Reports (FERs) in line with the Australian Fire Engineering Guidelines
- Fire and smoke modelling (FDS) and egress analysis (Pathfinder or similar)
- Fire risk assessments, fire safety audits and upgrade strategies for existing buildings
- Consulting with fire authorities (FRV / FRNSW), certifiers, architects and builders from concept to completion
- Writing fee proposals, managing clients and mentoring junior engineers (senior levels)

What you’ll bring

- Engineering degree,



ideally with a Master of Fire Safety Engineering (or working towards one)
- Fire safety engineering consultancy experience (all levels considered)
- Solid understanding of the NCC and performance-based design
- Clear technical writing and confident communication with clients and stakeholders
- Registration as a Fire Safety Engineer in VIC or NSW, or working towards it (senior levels)
