C9 Chocolate and Gelato St Kilda is seeking an organised and customer-focused Retail Manager to oversee daily store operations. The successful candidate will manage stock, purchasing, sales performance and staffing while maintaining high standards of customer service and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan the store’s range of chocolates, gelato and related products, establish appropriate inventory levels and maintain consistent customer service standards.
- Develop and implement purchasing procedures and marketing initiatives, and review product pricing to support sales and profitability.
- Coordinate in-store promotions, product displays and advertising activities to attract customers and promote the store’s products.
- Assist customers with purchases and provide advice on product varieties, ingredients, storage and serving options.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock movements and oversee records of sales, payments and other financial transactions.
- Prepare and manage store budgets, monitor operating expenses and sales results, and take action to meet financial targets.




- Manage staff recruitment and selection, organise training and rosters, and supervise employee performance.
- Ensure store operations comply with workplace health and safety requirements, including secure equipment use, food handling and hygiene procedures.
- Oversee online orders through Uber Eats and DoorDash, coordinating online and in-store orders to ensure efficient service and timely fulfilment.
- Monitor gelato storage conditions, freezers and store equipment to maintain product quality, food safety and reliable daily operations.
- Analyse sales performance, minimise product waste, control operating costs and identify opportunities to improve store profitability.

Skills and Experience

- At least one year of relevant experience in retail management.
- A relevant qualification in Retail Management, Business, Management or a related field.
- Strong leadership, communication and customer service skills.
- Experience in stock control, purchasing, budgeting and monitoring sales performance.
- Ability to organise daily operations and train and supervise a team.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety and food hygiene practices.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
