The Rose & Crown Hotel, Western Australia’s oldest operating hotel, is seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our professional kitchen team.

Located in the heart of Guildford, we are an award-winning hospitality venue renowned for delivering exceptional dining experiences, quality modern Australian cuisine, woodfired pizzas and outstanding customer service in a unique heritage setting.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated cook who enjoys working in a busy kitchen and is committed to producing high-quality food while maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards.

Position: Full-time Cook

Salary: $80,000–$85,000 per annum, plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.

Key Responsibilities

Check ingredients and food supplies for freshness, quality and suitability before use.

Prepare, season and cook meals in accordance with established recipes and menu specifications.

Operate ovens, grills and other cooking equipment, adjusting temperatures and cooking times as required.

Portion, plate and garnish meals, ensuring consistent serving sizes and presentation.

Prepare meals for customers with special dietary requirements, following appropriate allergen management procedures.

Store ingredients and prepared food safely, maintaining correct temperatures, labelling and stock rotation.

Follow food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures throughout food preparation, cooking and storage.

Assist with estimating ingredient quantities,



stock ordering and inventory control while minimising food wastage.

Assist the Head Chef with seasonal menus and daily specials as required.

Support other kitchen staff and assist with practical training in food preparation and cooking procedures.

Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.

Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and wider hospitality team to deliver consistent food quality and timely service.

Essential RequirementsA relevant AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, including at least two years of on-the-job training, or a relevant AQF Certificate IV or equivalent qualification.

Alternatively, a minimum of three years of relevant commercial cooking experience may be considered in place of formal qualifications.

Strong practical cooking skills and knowledge of modern Australian cuisine.

Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent food quality, portion sizes and presentation.

Experience working efficiently in a busy commercial kitchen.

Sound understanding of food safety, secure food storage, allergen management and workplace health and safety requirements.

Good organisational, communication and time management skills.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
