- Permanent full-time role - 38 hours per week

About the role

AK Formwork Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and reliable Formwork Carpenter to join our construction team. This hands-on role involves constructing, installing and dismantling formwork for concrete structures.

The successful applicant will be self-motivated, able to solve practical problems and committed to quality workmanship. The role is based in Perth, with travel to metropolitan and regional Western Australian project sites as required.

Key Responsibilities:

- Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and site plans to determine formwork requirements, dimensions and installation methods.
- Measure, mark out, cut and prepare timber, plywood and other formwork materials.
- Construct, assemble and install formwork for footings, slabs, walls, columns, beams and stairs.
- Form curved, radius and other non-standard sections according to project requirements.
- Install bracing, props and supports to ensure formwork is secure and stable.
- Check dimensions, alignment, levels and structural stability before concrete placement.
- Adjust and repair formwork to achieve specified tolerances and concrete finishes.
- Safely dismantle formwork once authorised and prepare materials for reuse.
- Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades to meet construction schedules.
- Maintain tools and equipment,



keep work areas organised and comply with site safety procedures.

Qualifications, skills and attributes

The successful candidate will have:

- A Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent relevant trade qualification, or substantial relevant industry experience.
- At least 1 year of relevant formwork carpentry experience.
- A current Construction White Card.
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites.
- Their own standard carpentry tools.
- The ability to read drawings and work accurately with minimal supervision.
- Experience with timber and proprietary formwork systems, including stairs and curved formwork.
- An understanding of formwork requirements for high-quality exposed concrete finishes.
- Reliability, punctuality and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A solid commitment to work health and safety.
- Contactable referees and examples of previous formwork carpentry work.

The successful applicant will be offered a salary of $82,500 per year + superannuation.
