Your role

The Strategic Development Initiatives (SDI) team sits within Employee Experience & Learning and leads organisation-wide initiatives that strengthen workforce capability, performance and leadership across DCJ.

Our work is focused on helping people grow, perform and succeed through meaningful development opportunities, practical performance support and innovative workforce solutions. We partner with teams across DCJ to design and deliver initiatives that build capability, support leadership development and improve organisational outcomes.

As a Project Officer, you'll support the delivery and continuous improvement of strategic initiatives across the SDI portfolio. This includes contributing to capability and development programs, workforce performance initiatives, stakeholder engagement, evaluation, reporting and the systems and processes that support these activities.

What You’ll Do

As an SDI Project Officer, you'll support the delivery and continuous improvement of strategic workforce initiatives that help build individual, team and organisational capability.

You Will

- Contribute to the design, delivery and continuous improvement of strategic capability and workforce development initiatives.
- Work with stakeholders across DCJ to understand needs, identify opportunities and deliver practical solutions.
- Contribute to workshops, presentations and capability initiatives that support learning, performance and organisational improvement.
- Develop reporting,

insights and evaluation activities that support decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Use data, evidence and feedback to help shape recommendations and enhance program effectiveness.
- Support the ongoing management and improvement of systems, platforms and resources that underpin workforce development and performance initiatives.
- Support governance, business improvement and project coordination activities.
- Build strong relationships across the organisation to support collaboration and shared outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for someone who is curious, proactive and motivated by the opportunity to help people learn, grow and perform at their best.

You Will Bring

- Experience supporting projects, programs or business improvement initiatives.
- Experience or an interest in learning and development, capability building, leadership development or organisational performance.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate information into meaningful insights.
- Experience working with data, reporting, evaluation or business systems to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
- Robust communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- The ability to build productive relationships and work collaboratively across teams.

- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn, contribute ideas and explore new approaches.

Experience supporting learning and development initiatives, workforce capability programs, HR systems, learning platforms or organisational development activities will be highly regarded.

We focus on hiring people who share our commitment and goals of inclusion, collaboration, adaptability, courage and integrity. If you meet the essential requirements and the role resonates with you, please apply – you do not need to meet every desired requirement for us to want to talk to you.

What We Offer

We offer a variety of benefits, including:

- A challenging and rewarding career
- Flexible, autonomous work environment
- Competitive pay and conditions
- Training and development opportunities to build and maintain capabilities
- Health & Wellbeing and Employee Assistance Programs.

We do work that really matters

We collaborate with other agencies and community partners, to improve lives and realise the potential of children, adults, families and communities. We're focused on breaking, rather than managing, disadvantage. It’s work that really matters.

Applications close Thursday, 19th November 2026 at 11:59pm AEST.
