Were recruiting for a Manufacturing Manager role with one of our manufacturing clients based in Melbournes West, a well-established business in the industrial and infrastructure manufacturing space.

The team

Youll lead a team including 2 Production Managers (overseeing 50 people in total), a Maintenance, and a Process Engineer.

Role

As Manufacturing Manager, youll lead the manufacturing and engineering operations, with accountability for safe, reliable and cost effective production. This role is central to improving plant performance, restoring output, maintaining quality, and building a capable, accountable workforce. Reporting to the State Manager, your key focus areas will include:

- Safety & Compliance Maintaining a safe, compliant workplace and embedding proactive risk management across manufacturing and engineering
- Operational Performance Delivering production, quality, service and cost targets, while improving schedule attainment and plant stability
- Reliability & Improvement Reducing downtime, strengthening preventative maintenance, and removing operational constraints through disciplined problem solving and continuous improvement




- Quality & Productivity Maintaining process control and product compliance, while reducing variation, scrap, rework and inefficiencies
- People Leadership Building workforce capability, engagement and accountability through transparent standards, coaching, collaboration and succession planning

Qualifications

- 7 to 10 years manufacturing leadership experience in a high volume industrial environment, ideally within pipe extrusion, plastics, PVC or engineered products (extrusion specific experience isnt essential, but you should have led manufacturing teams of 30 to 40+ people)
- A relevant tertiary or trade qualification preferred; Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement training advantageous
- A technical leader who understands the detail, with the ability to manage strong personalities and build trust across the team
- Commercially minded and practical, with a focus on business process, governance and manufacturing excellence
