We operate within local government sectors providing expertise in tree planting and tree establishment. Today, we actively work across 17 Metropolitan Melbourne councils.

What we are looking for:

We are seeking an Operations Manager to join our team to oversee the North and West regions of Melbourne. Reporting to the Head of Planting and Establishment this role is a critical leadership position that is responsible for the delivery of tree planting, establishment and maintenance services.

What the role entails:

Provide day-to-day operational leadership to Team Leaders, Crew Leaders and Crew Members.

Manage, mentor and support direct reports and emerging leaders across multiple regions.

Manage weekly, monthly and seasonal work demand planning.

Optimise delivery schedules, travel routes and Crew allocations to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.

Accuracy across data management and solid credentials and adaptability in the use of operating software.

Coordinate labour requirements across allocated contracts and service areas.

Analyse workload demands and identify future workforce and skill requirements. Assist with forecasting labour requirements.

Coordinate stock movements and distribution to operational teams.

Assist with planning future stock requirements to meet contract delivery targets.

Conduct regular field inspections and audits across all service areas.

Monitor compliance with contract specifications, quality standards and client requirements.

Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions where required. Identify service delivery issues and implement corrective actions if required.

Monitor tree health and establishment outcomes and provide recommendations for improvement.





Attend site meetings and stakeholder meetings as required. Support the Head of Planting and Maintenance with contract delivery reviews and operational reporting.

Support the Head of Planting and our level 5 Arborists with nursery stock inspections and stock assessments to assess quality, species suitability and compliance with project specifications

Oversee procurement requirements and manage tree stock availability.

Verify planting quality, tree establishment outcomes, watering standards and maintenance activities have been completed to expected standards.

Ensure accurate asset tracking and compliance with company inspection procedures

Assist with recruitment, onboarding and induction of operational employees

Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety legislation, environmental obligations and ISO requirements.

Any other tasks as reasonably expected of you to successfully perform your role.

What we are looking for :

5+ years’ experience in leading or managing diverse teams

Demonstrated capability in workforce planning, scheduling and route optimisation.

Qualifications in Horticulture, Arboriculture, or a related discipline desirable but not essential

Current Victorian Driver Licence with LR and/or MR an advantage.

Experience conducting site audits, quality inspections and operational reviews.

Ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and lead and mentor.
