PRIMA Recruitment & Consultancy is seeking expressions of interest from Senior Java Developers for a federal government contract. This is a hands‑on role improving enterprise Java applications that collect, process and report on infrastructure utilisation data.

What you'll work on

- Develop and maintain Java components, APIs and data collectors that integrate with enterprise monitoring and platform systems.
- Use PostgreSQL and SQL to improve how capacity data is stored, queried and reported.
- Prepare data and queries for Grafana dashboards that help teams identify where CPU capacity can be adjusted.
- Investigate defects, support releases and document changes for operational handover.

What we're looking for

- Solid enterprise Java development and application support experience, including API integration, data processing and troubleshooting.




- Experience with PostgreSQL or another relational database, including SQL, data modelling and performance tuning.
- Experience integrating data from monitoring or observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic, Dynatrace or equivalent platforms.
- Familiarity with Linux, Tomcat, Maven, Git and deployment across development, test and production environments.
- Initial term of up to 12 months, with potential extensions.
- Estimated start date of 11 January 2027.
- Canberra is the primary location, with hybrid arrangements. Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane may also be considered.
- Candidates must be able to obtain an NV1 security clearance.
