Operating out of a exceptionally clean, well-maintained and up-to-date workshop equipped with Laser & Plasma cutting tables, guillotines, roll forming, and industrial band saws, they deliver everything from custom one off jobs to batch production.

Due to a significant increase in orders, our client is seeking experienced 2nd Class Welders to join their close knit team for a Temp to Perm position.

Job Overview

- Location: Hope Valley (Next to Kwinana & Henderson)

- Start Date: ASAP / Immediate Start – Candidates must be availlable by the 16/11/2026

- Working Days: Monday to Friday (Saturdays Optional)

- Working Hours: 12 Hour Days (10 Hour days available)

- Working Times: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM

- Pay Rate: $40.00 to $50.00 Per Hour Super (Flat)

- Potential Gross Earnings Per Day: $380.00 to $575.00

- Potential Gross Weekly Earning: $2,280.00 to $3450.00

Key Responsibilities

As a 2nd Class Welder you will be working primarily on bench-top welding with precision pre-cut steel, welding small to medium structural steel components in production batches. Your daily duties will include:

- Shop Drawings: Reading and interpreting shop drawings to accurately identify required welding processes and weld sizes.

- Material Preparation: Sorting pre-cut plate and structural steel.

- Assembly: Bench top assembly & tacking small to medium structural steel components.

- Welding: Performing high-quality GMAW (MIG Shielded) and FCAW-G (MIG Flux Cored) welding in 1G, 2G, and 3G positions.

- Quality Control: Conducting QA checks on finished fabrications to meet specifications.

The 2nd Class Welder





We are seeking an experienced 2nd Class Welder that has experience in bench top welding for batch production runs. You will be skilled in GMAW and FCAW-G welding where you are able to set up welding units to correct settings for varying welding techniques and steel types. You will also have a focus on production where you will be able to meet reasonable KPI’s and time frames in order to meet our clients production schedules.

We are also seeking candidates that are familiar with working long shifts of 10 to 12 hour days 5 to 6 days per week where having the stamina to maintain productivity over a 10 to 12 hour day and over 5 to 6 consecutive days is essential.

2nd Class Welder - Essential Criteria

- Experience: Minimum 2 years of proven experience in GMAW (MIG Shielded) and FCAW-G (MIG Flux Cored) welding on structural and plate steel. GTAW (TIG) experience is advantageous but not essential.

- Shop Drawing Interpretation: Strong ability to independently work from shop drawings.

- Stamina & Reliability: Demonstrated experience working 10 to 12-hour shifts over 5 to 6 days per week, backed by excellent attendance and punctuality.

- Certifications: Valid White Card (Construction Induction).

Weld Test

Shortlisted candidates progressing to the final stage will complete a practical bench top weld test in Hope Valley, covering:

- Welding Machine setup for specific steel types and joint specifications.

- GMAW & FCAW-G welding on plate or structural steel in 1G, 2G, and 3G positions.

Remuneration

Depending on your past work experience and welding skills the pay rate will be between;

- $40.00 to $50.00 Per Hour (Flat)

- Super on all working hours

- Paid Weekly

- Potential Gross Earnings Per Day: $380.00 to $575.00

- Potential Gross Weekly Earning: $2,280.00 to $3450.00
