About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Officer to join our St. Leonards based Finance team on an initial three-month contract, with potential to extend.

Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, you will take ownership of weekly childcare fee collections, declined payments and family account enquiries across our campus network. Working closely with families, campus teams and our Family Services Team, you will help ensure accounts are accurate, payments are collected within required timeframes and enquiries are resolved professionally.

This is a hands-on, deadline-driven role suited to an experienced Accounts Receivable professional who can become productive quickly and balance effective debt collection with empathy, discretion and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and process weekly fee collections across our campuses, including EFT files, direct debits and BPoint credit card payments.
- Proactively manage declined payments, dishonoured accounts and outstanding debt, ensuring timely follow-up before the next billing cycle.
- Work constructively with families to resolve account matters, balancing effective debt collection with empathy, professionalism and exceptional customer service.
- Maintain accurate family accounts in Xplor, including manual payments, approved charges, credits, bond refunds and other account adjustments.
- Investigate and resolve billing enquiries in partnership with internal stakeholders including operations/campus teams.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of account activity, customer communication and agreed actions within HubSpot and relevant finance systems.
- Support the Accounts Receivable Manager with reconciliations,



credit control activities and the ongoing delivery of an accurate, responsive and effective accounts receivable function.

About You

- At least three years' experience in AR, credit control, debt collection or a similar commercial finance environment.

- Robust debt collection capability, including the confidence and judgement to manage challenging or sensitive financial conversations.
- A customer-focused communication style, with the ability to build positive relationships and resolve account matters professionally and respectfully.
- High attention to detail, with demonstrated experience maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions and following established controls.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against strict billing & collection deadlines.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office suite skills, together with confidence learning and using financial, billing and CRM systems.
- A mature, discreet and collaborative approach, with experience using Xplor, HubSpot, BPoint or childcare fee administration considered advantageous.
